Description: Petitgrain Citronnier Essential Oil is steam distilled from the twigs and leaves of the lemon tree. Lemon comes from a Small evergreen tree with very fragrant flowers and stiff thorns, up to 5 meters high and is cultivated worldwide.

 

Color: Colorless to pale yellow liquid.

 

Common Uses: Petitgrain Citronnier Essential Oil is recognized as being antiseptic, and as having refreshing and cooling properties. On skin and hair it can be used for its cleansing effect, as well as for treating acne, oily skin, and as a cleanser and toner. It is also popular in the perfumery industry.

Aromatic Scent: Petitgrain Citronnier Essential Oil has a strong fresh floral lemon scent.

 

History: Historically, Petitgrain was distilled from the immature, hard green fruit of the orange tree, hence its name. However this proved to uneconomical and gradually the oil from the leaves and twigs were used and this became known as Petitgrain. In recent years Petitgrain has also been distilled from the leaves of the lemon, mandarin and lime tree, creating very distinct and exotic aromas.

 

Cautions: Petitgrain Citronnier Essential Oil is generally non-toxic, non-irritant, non-sensitizing. Avoid use during pregnancy.
